I am new to this group and to being a Kubota (or any tractor) owner. I recently purchased a B7500 w/ FEL, MMM and Woods Bush Hog. So far I love it!! Here's my problem. When the unit was delivered I asked the guy to show me how to remove the MMM which he did. He had trouble seperating the shafts (this should have been my tipoff). When I tried re-attaching the MMM I have been unable to connect the Mid PTO. It is half on and half off. I'm sure I have it aligned properly, but I cannot get it to "click" into position. Any thoughts?? Someone told me about a product called "Master Blaster" and that sometimes the paint on the shaft (being new)is just enough thickness to make it next to impossible to detatch and re-attach. HELP, it's time to mow!!

If the PTO stub has paint on it, it is most likely your problem. I went through the same thing only with rear PTO. I took my pocketknife and scraped the paint from the high and low lengths of the PTO stub. I haven't had a problem since.

As soon as it dries up a bit here in VA I will be under the tractor with a scraper! By the way, a neighbor had the same suggestion :)

Most get easier after they've been on and off a few times I've heard but paint, rust or a burr will sure would make it more difficult. Good idea to keep them greased and to use a cover when not in use as well.
From the description I'd guess that you've used pto shafts on other tractors. There was a discussion here awhile back. Somebody damaged a tractor by running the mid-pto when the shaft wasn't locked in place. The person may not have been familiar with the collars, pins or other type locking mechanisms. A shaft won't go on if the collar isn't pushed back or pin depressed either.

Tom is right, you do have to release the locking mechanism. I just assumed you were doing this? One should never assume!
I have both kinds of locking mechanisms. One is a collar you twist and the other has a button you push. If you don't release the lock, it will slide on the stub about halfway.

When I work on those before assembly and before the deck is under the tractor put the shaft onto the tractor and remove it and do it again until you feel that it is easy to put on. ....

Thanks to all of you. I was able to get the Mid PTO on successfully finally. I used a triangle file between the spines, wire brushed inside the collar and re-greased. The shaft went on halfway and stopped. Started the tractor, let the PTO run for about 15 seconds, shut it down and the darn thing slid into position, locking very nicely. Best of all i finally got to mow with my new toy!! Again, thanks to you all for your suggestions.
